DON BOSCO ON ADMA
(ANS - Rome) - "The undersigned humbly exposes to your Most Reverend Excellency that for the sole desire of promoting the glory of God and the good of souls a pious union of the faithful should be started under the name of Association of the Mary Help of Christians in the Church of Mary Help of Christians which thou consecrated a year ago; its main purpose would be to promote veneration of the Blessed Sacrament and devotion to Mary Auxilium Christianorum: a title that seems to return with vivid pleasure to the august Queen of Heaven." Sac. Giovanni Bosco.
It was with these words that Don Bosco asked the archbishop of Turin, Msgr. Alessandro Ottaviani Riccardi, for the authorization to establish the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), with the aim of promoting the faith of the Christian people. On 18 April 1869, the archbishop decreed the canonical erection of the Association, which marked the beginning of the second group founded by Don Bosco.

The letter of the Rector Major on ADMA
Rome, 18 April 2019,
«My Dear Sons in Jesus Christ,
I wanted to begin this letter not with my own words but with those of our beloved Father, and with the same affection and large heart with which he wrote to his Sons in 1885. With the same feelings of closeness I want to reach out to each one of you dear brothers and sisters of the whole Salesian Family as I write this Letter on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) and a year after the 150th anniversary of the consecration of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, in this way remembering our Father in a special way.
ADMA "We promote the opening of this Association in places where it is not yet present, with pastoral creativity, even if 150 years have passed since its foundation. Mary Help of Christians will do the rest."

Dear ADMA Friends and well-wishers,
Greetings from Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Our first batch of ADMA is the fruit of the work of so many years of eager interest of our parishioners. ADMA was erected on 17th April 2021. The first batch of members who enthusiastically got ready for this memorable moment of grace on 24th of MAY 2022. And made their Commitment.
The event took place under the auspicious presence of 4 Salesians Fr.George (Rector), Fr.John,(pastor) Fr. Lou (Representative from Sue province) and Fr.Samson (the local spiritual director of ADMA.), and a larger devotees of Mary Help of Christians.
The event took place at 6.00PM - we had the Ceremony of the Commitment was made one by one, then, the medals, the name-tags and regulations of ADMA were given as of the Procedural-Indication
With Gratitude we remember all the well-wishers and the supporters of ADMA. We remembered all of you during the Thanksgiving Mass on 31st of May on the feast of the Visitation of our Blessed Virgin Mary.
